Polk-specific freeze protection for heat pumps
Polk's 2–5 freeze events per winter are real, and they damage heat-pump systems installed with factory-default lock-out temps. We manually configure lock-out temperatures (typically 32–35°F), verify defrost-cycle behavior, and size supplemental electric heat strips to your home's heat-loss calc — so you don't wake up to a 58°F house during a January cold snap. This is a 15-minute adjustment most contractors skip; we do it on every Polk install and as part of any fall tune-up.
